Here is a great video showing the professionals pronating. This is essential to generating power.

Currently in the juniors only a handful are doing this, the reason being that the majority have been taught to use the frying pan grip. So it is kind of a dilemma for the coach who is teaching the children to serve properly.
In my opinion when teaching a kid to serve, I would teach them with the correct grip from the beginning and let them hassle it out giving them encouragement until it clicks. The best way I have found to help them do this is spend countless hours throwing a ball. It will teach them the basic motor skills they require to complete the service action. In my coaching I have found that the kids with fluent throwing actions tend to pick up the service action pretty quickly. By doing this you see the kid who has mastered throwing will pronate naturally, this will follow through into the service action making your job as a coach easier.
